Students are welcome to attend for free in-person and online every Friday, 1pm CT.
Overview: – Watching, learning and practicing are effective tools for Karate to enhance forward, backward, and side-to-side movement.
Strike and Block Techniques: – Karate is dynamic, smooth, loud and balanced, the polar opposite of Parkinsonism.
Basic Workout: –Steve Sensei presents 5-minutes of simple Karate exercises that can improve fitness, energy and overall health.
Heian Shodan: -Steve Sensei demonstrates Heian Shodan, the first of the five-Kata Heian series of the Shotokan Karate system. ‘Heian Shodan’ means ‘Peaceful Mind’.
Hikite: -Steve Sensei teaches the importance of the chamber hand or the pulling-back hand.
Front Kick & Back Kick: – At Breakthrough Karate’s annual Karate for a Cause Labor Day weekend awareness and PD fundraiser, a student practices the front kick (mae geri) and back kick(ushiro geri).
