Dojo Kun: Dōjō kun (道場訓) is a Japanese martial arts term literally meaning “training hall rules. They are displayed in the dōjō  and outline behavior expected and disallowed.

  1. Refrain from violent and impetuous behavior.
  2. Respect propriety.
  3. Cultivate a spirit of perseverance.
  4. Be faithful and sincere.
  5. Exert oneself in the perfection of character.

Basic Karate Terminology: Often we use Japanese karate words in class instruction. Here’s a useful glossary of terms.
