The thought of the day has to do with relaxation.
There’s a beautiful feeling of lightness that does wonders, even in small doses. Everything we do feels smoother when we relax. It’s a feeling of “flow”.
Nice to imagine this state of calm, and it’s very possible to achieve with the right set of conditions.
First, focus on your breath. If you come away with one thought about feeling relaxed it’s that the breath must come easily and naturally. Draw the breath with your lower abdomen (a couple of inches below the belly button). Abdominal breathing is deeper and more stimulating.
Next, find a point of focus. You can have eyes open or closed, but let your vision and mind settle on something pleasing to see. Where your eyes go, the mind follows.
Finally, let your body settle – start at the top of the head and down to the tips of the toes. Feel your skeleton and muscles hold you up. Align yourself for comfort and balance..
Now, take all of those things and add movement. Hmmm…… Sounds a bit like karate, no?!
